Thanks to everyone for coming along to my new show 'From Berlin to Bacharach' on Friday night. It was a wonderful evening and everyone seemed to enjoy it. It definitely made me think that this show could go from strength to strength....watch this space! It's a great feeling to sit at home planning, chatting to arrangers, practicing in the bath and then rehearsing on stage (with a very talented and patient band!) and then to hear the audience, singing along, and shouting for more!
The next day we travelled to Taunton to perform some Duke Ellington music (i wonder if he practiced in the bath!). This concert was with a full acoustic big band and really does feature some world-class playing. I am honoured to stand in front and do a bit of singing. Watch out for this band at Festivals and concerts around the country this year. Their new album (with a song from me) is available from Pete Long's website.
I've updated my website to include new gigs, here are a selection of the ones coming up........ the next one with my Quartet at the Belvedere Jazz Club, Rawreth, Nr Wickford, Essex, on 29th April. Bank Holiday 4th May Ribble Valley Jazz Festival,Clitheroe singing and trumpet with the Northern Jazz Orchestra. 'Peggy, Duke, Benny' Chingford Assembly Hall 29th May for the National Jazz Archive, and 25th June Late night Jazz with my trio, at the Elgar Room, Royal Albert Hall
Enjoy the sun!
See you soon,
